What is unlocking?
Many cell phone carriers offer handsets at a cut price to encourage you to sign up to their network and also to sign a contract.. Most carriers require you to use a particular service for at least 12 months.
The way the network carriers attempt to do this is to lock your phone for use only with a specific SIM card or network. Should you attempt using an alternative SIM card, you will receive error messages ...such as SIM Card Not Accepted. And this is where unlocking comes in. Unlocking enables you to use any SIM card on any network in your handset, and cuts all ties to your initial network provider.
The easiest method of unlocking a handset is by code unlocking. The user enters a number of details about their handset, including their IMEI, the handset model, the network and their country. The information is then used to generate their unlock code, and we send that code to you via email along with instructions on how to use it.
Once keyed into your phone, any existing restrictions are removed.
How do I enter the code?
We give you a set of very good and easy instructions based on the model of your phone . They are simple and if you follow them, entering the code takes only a few minutes. It is not a mysterious process at all. If you can dial a phone number, you can unlock your phone.
What do you need to know about my phone?
We have to know a few key things about you and your phone. Once you provide these to us, we can generate an unlocking code for you. All we need is your phone brand and model, the IMEI (that's the number that uniquely identifies your phone and it's easy to find), what carrier the phone is locked to (like Cingular, Rogers, T-Mobile, etc) and your email address so we can send the code to you.
How to find my IMEI number ?
It's easy. Most people don't have any idea what the IMEI number is for their phone. All you do is take the battery out and look for a series of 15 numbers located by a bar code. That's it. Some phones make even that unnecessary because you can either find it in your settings or enter *#06# and get it. Just write it down carefully. We must have that number absolutely correctly to generate your unlocking code.
Is unlocking cell phone Legal ?
Phone unlocking is perfectly legal if you own your handset. That cell phone carriers and providers are required to supply unlocking information should convince you of that fact. You are free to do whatever you wish with a handset you own.
All mobile phones are manufactured to accept any SIM card. It is consumers legal right to have their phone unlocked!
